Does anyone know if you can switch modes (i.e. go from map to plates) when using the iFly in X-Plane mode? I did get the output to work briefly today again but the minute I tried to open an approach plate I lost my position and could not get it established again. The iFly went back to my actual position not reading the NMEA data from the X-Plane.

Thanks,

Paul

Paul,

Sorry to hear you are having problems.

I really can't answer why it keeps dropping out.

But, I can say that all of the iFly functions work just like in real flight for me. Switching between Sectional, enroute chart, approach plates, airport diagrams all work just as they should.

I am using my iFly 720 on a Windows 7 PC.

Greetings IFlyers.

A while back there was a little bit of a discussion about sending the NMEA from MS FSX to IFly. I located a free utility (XConn version 5) that appears to do the job. Here's the link (close to the end of the page):

Here's a brief discussion about XConn:

I have not tried the utility as my computer skills are worse than my too-fast-approach landings! If anyone's willing to try and let us know how it works, I, for one, would be grateful.

Thanks,

Charlie

Paul,

Did you get your problems worked out with X-Plane driving your iFly.

If, not did you load the drivers that came with your Comm adapter and set up the Baud, and # of bits per the discussion above?

How many other people are trying this feature???? It really is a good way to become proficient with the iFly.

Also, I have now compared X-Wing Pro to iFly and iFly wins IMHO.
