Someone please remind me: Does the iFly Glide Computer take into account the winds (as given by the Hi Res winds)? This came up when my BFR Instruction mentioned that Avare also has a safe glide feature. (I thought ours was better because it took some wind info into account.)

I liked the glide ring that was part of the old "Anywhere Map" app I enjoyed using many years ago.  Naturally, it was only an approxiation, but was helpful in terms of keeping gide options in mind, especially over inhospitable terrain.  I would love to see it as art of the iFly system.

Just bumping this in hopes that someone will actually take it seriously. This is a commonly requested feature that I would expect to take much less development time than the most recent major “upgrades” that ifly has put out recently, and would probably be used by a lot more people. We've been asking for this one for years.

Personaly, I think that the last thing I would be doing in an engine out situation, is look at my 740 for a "glide Ring". I would be trimming the bird to my best glide speed around 70/80 Mph and as low sa 60 upwind and try to choose the best place to put the bird in, and yes, I did practice in ALL wind directions, so I have an Idea what my plane will do, and remember a good prayer is essential also.

Ciao
