Here is what seems like a reasonable article. It also agrees with Jim's assessment not to use petroleum based products.

I'll try the Armor All solution and provide some feedback after a few days of usage.

I can report the Armor All actually works!

I load tested the mount by hanging an 19 oz weight in place of the 11 oz iFly 720.

It has been hanging two days Five Days now.

I have driven on rough roads and curves and over rough railroad tracks and it is holding fine. I have not flown with it yet.

If anyone does the dielectric grease test let us know. I would try it but I don't have any. Nor do I know which product to buy.

One question I have is, will the grease actually hold it in place or will it allow the mount to slip or slide under heavy G loads?

At 5 days with 19 ozs. on the mount, it started sliding a few inches, but did not release. I cycled the lever and it was rock solid again.

So, I think I can say I'm sold on Armor All.

After all the discussions on this subject using the suction mount, here's what I found.

I've sprayed water on the suction mount, attached to the canopy. After two months it did fall off. Without water it would only last a week or so.

Just an FYI to those interested. Now to find a place to mount below the glare shield. Nope, no place to put it, no room.
