Will the L3 9000 work with the iFly 700 and the 740 units?

Yes, we have confirmed installations with the iFly 740 working with the Lynx NGT-9000 via WiFi. I can't confirm for the 700 specifically per an installation, but the Lynx is sending out serial data, the GDL90 data is the same so it should work via the USB-Serial cable on the iFly 700 as well.

I'm having an NGT-9000 installed. It looks like Wing-x on an iPad can interface to the NGT-9000 via WiFi and utilize the WAAS GPS of the NGT-9000 so I don't even need a GPS in my iPad. I'm wondering if the iPad version of iFly will provide the same capability or must I have an iPad with GPS?

Chuck,

You should be able to use iFly GPS to do the same. I've confirmed with other pilots currently flying with the NGT-9000. You can connect the iPad to it via WiFi, then open iFly GPS and touch. Menu, About, Connected Devices, then select the Wireless Device as Lynx by L3. You should start seeing the heartbeats and ownships begin counting up. Depending on your proximity to a ground station, you might need to take a flight to see weather and traffic.

Hi Shane;

I just had my Lynx ngt-9000+ installed and my ipad mini 2 with Ifly GPS won't connect up. In the settings menu of the Ipad it shows the L-3 as a choice but when trying to connect the message reads something like "not able to connect to this network".

I've gone through the procedure you described but no joy. My avionics installer came out to the plane with his smart phone which had a free app on it and he was able to get traffic and weather on it no problem.

I'm out of solutions so if you have any suggestions I'd sure like to hear them. My only alternative is to start using another aviation app, something I really don't want to do.

Jeff
