Hi Jeff,

If the iPad is unable to connect to a wifi network, this is unrelated to the iFly GPS app. I don't think any aviation app will work if we cannot first get the wifi connection established.

Couple of idea: 1) Make sure you have the latest firmware on your iPad. 2) Check this link, it has some helpful tips related to this problem: http://osxdaily.com/2014/03/01/unable-to-join-the-network-error-ios-fix/

Thanks,
Walter

Walter;

We got a free app to connect with the Lynx 9000+ and it shows weather & traffic. The avionics tech tried for a hour to get my Ipad using Ifly GPS to connect to the Lynx 9000+ ... no joy.

I'm really disappointed because I enjoy using Ifly GPS so much. Any help would be appreciated. The avioncis tech also called L-3 and that didn't get any results.

From your description, your iPad is not connecting to the 9000. The iPad has to connect before iFly or any other EFB will work. So again, from your description your problem is with the iPad. It would help if you knew the exact message the iPad is displaying. For instance, recent versions of Apple updates will throw a very similar message when connected to a network that does not have an Internet connection (such as an ADS-B). Can you give more details? For instance, is the iPad getting an IP address from the 9000?

Jeff;

Yes, I'll head over to the airport in the morning and try to connect up again and I'll write down the message and any IP address information and then post it here.

Thanks.

Hi Jeff;

I decided to go over to the Airpark as it's only 5 minutes away. Here are the results.

In the Ifly GPS app, when I select menu, about, & connected devices, a window pops up which says Lynx by L3 (Not Connected).

In the settings page of the Ipad, when I select Wi-Fi I do see the Lynx network but it puts a message up which says "no internet connection", try restarting the modem and the router.

The IP Address is: 169.254.100.11

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Router: 0.0.0.0

DNS: 0.0.0.0
