Well, we do for one. Between the mountains and the forest fires, the air has been quite turbulent here in CO, so being able to tap the +/- icons works well without the risk of an errant tap on the screen.

I use them, too, for the same reason. It's much safer/quicker in turbulence to +/-, lest you end up panning the map into unwanted territory at an unintended zoom level and have to re-center and start over.

Interesting. I don't remember ever using the zoom buttons in any tablet app instead of pinch-n-zoom. I guess its just another example of "different strokes..."

I (sometimes) use them on my tablet, too. Part of that is because sometimes pinch-zoom is tough when bouncing around, and part of that is because for years I used a 700, and then a 720, and they don't have multi-touch screens, so pinch-zoom is not possible. I guess I got "trained" to use the buttons. :-)
