Synthetic Vision shows airport flags off in the distance, but I wonder if it can also show upcoming waypoints that are listed in the flight plan.

Not quite, but there's a related way to visualize the waypoints in synthetic vision. If you have altitudes set for your flight plan, the highway in the sky will show up, which will turn at each waypoint.

Does that mean that if you have multiple waypoints in a straight line, there won't be any clue that you're passing a waypoint?

The waypoints are marked on the map side, and your ETE, ETA, and Distance to Current Waypoint instruments will change to the next waypoint.

My Android got auto-updated and voila! waypoints are now shown on the EFIS highway in the sky (HITS)!

I created custom waypoint types, "pto" and "pti" (Procedure Turn Outbound/Inbound) that I can use for approaches that don't have waypoints built into the plate.  Then I created custom waypoints with my new types, both named CAV14.  I added those to the flight plan and got asked if I wanted to add them to the approach, which I did.  Now the HITS view includes both and displays two tags for each.  My "pto" waypoint has a flag that says "CAV14" (the airport/runway name), and the other flag says "pto" (the waypoint type).

My next step is to create a custom icon image to go with the new types.

Thanks for adding this awesome feature!
