Amendment to my prior resposne: I've confirmed the "Map" button doesn't function as it should; both this and the "Mode" button have been corrected in code - will be released this week. I also see what you mean about the "Cancel" option not being selectable when using the remote - that also will be corrected this week.

OK Received my unit today.. Should have been Friday but it was hard for the UPS truck to get thru the several feet of snow.. Anyway the Ifly 700 is the COOLIST new electronic device I own.. I worked for Radio Shack for 28 years and have been a Ham for 30. and have owned lots of cool stuff. Walter , you deserve to a medal and to make lots of money over the next few years with this unit.. I am very impressed. Sure there are a few bugs and thats to be expected, however it seems that you are keeping a very close watch on these pages and resolving all or most issues within hours, not days or weeks. When the word gets out a little more about these units I think you will have a backlog of orders.. Makes me want to go back into sales and help you market these!!

Good luck and thanks for a great product!

Received mine today, 1/25/10. Impressive unit. I started it using the wall power adapter to check things out. We are severly snowed in so it will be a while before I get to fly with it. Easy to work with. Was able to receive GPS data in side our living room!

I checked the system info and it shows Bootloader 2.0.0, OS 2.0.0 and Launcher 1.0.1. I noticed that there is a software update to 2.22. So I downloaded the Software update and the latest TFR data. During the update I received an error message "Unable to deploy SatelliteCompas.png", I clicked the OK button and it continued on with the updating. A short while later I received the the successful message and it rebooted. However, it still says that the TFRs are more than 24 hours old and the system info did not show any changes (Bootloader 2.0.0, OS 2.0.0 and Launcher 1.0.1). Is there somewhere else that the software version is shown?

I also have "Flight Time" bug which tacks on an additional hour.

IFR enroute charts and geo coded approach plates would make this unit tough to beat!

I just got mine about an hour and a half ago, well, so far i am very impressed by it, less than a minute to acquire satellites

and about that long to upload/download an update that i found my question is do you have to download ALL the update for charts that you will seldom uses ,or can you download as needed later.

i did not fly with it yet , but i like the fact that i can SEE the screen OUTSIDE in the light

thank

I want to reiterate - how much I am enjoying the unit. Sure there will be a few bugs get through, and as a developer the negatives sometimes ring louder than the positives. I used the 700 and another aviation GPS together today. WOW - the information displayed is vastly different between the two units. The 700 with the sectional constantly displays a vast amount of data at any moment while the other unit can get sparse. The "sectional gps" is the way to go!

Walter - great job!
