After using iFlyGPS on an Android for the trial period and receiving a fast answer to an earlier question here from Walter himself, I purchased the full IFR subscription and love the app. During a recent flight, I found myself missing the checklist function I used w/in FltPlanGo, my previous EFB; I had tweaked a bunch of the original checklists to be more thorough and/or flow better and uploaded them to the program via the fltplan.com website, and found that very useful and used them in the cockpit. Also, recently considered taking another couple up with my wife and I in our PA28-140 Cherokee and wanted to do a couple W&B scenarios, which I also used to do w/in FltPlan Go. Looked for both functions in iFlyGPS and noted that they were not there. Logged onto the forum to make a suggestion and... found this thread.
Sooo.. please count my vote as another one that looks at iFlyGPS as very much an EFB, and not just an excellent navigation app. As a pilot, the last thing I want to do in flight is to switch apps to access a checklist, and to be honest I keep the amount of apps on my flight tablet to a bare minimum just as one more measure to help ensure stable behavior from the device. Having to put another app for W&B on the tablet doesn't appeal to me much, but I recognize that's overly cautious to many. I'd prioritize the checklist above W&B, but value them both. The option to choose to have certain checklists popup automatically at user-defined points of flight would be awesome! On the other hand, so many other things w/in the app already can be configured to do that that I'm concerned about getting lazy. :)
Thanks for a great app. Would be grateful for these further improvements if possible.
