PRINT

Of all the wishes upon a star - must have a PRINT FUNCTION for flight plans and legs, ect.

Start with Windows!

I am still using the no longer supported Voyager Flight Planner to print, but it does not have rubber banding ( pain in the ass)

Temporary fix.

Windows platform. I use Win7 -

1) Initiate IflyGPS program.  2) Load your flight plan or any screen 3) press Start (windows desktop), All programs, Accessories, Snippet Tool

I select full windows screen from snippet tab window and then save as a PDF or PNG, or JPG  to your favorite secret directory. Then print it!

or use you PRT SCRN Key  (mine no longer works)

Android tablet such as Samsung Tab S 8.4 inch

1) Settings, Motions, turn on Palm Swipe to capture

2) Load IflyGPS and Flight Plan

3) Swipe edge hand right to left (takes practice)

4) Picture is captured in Gallery or.....

5) Print picture with your favorite Print App.

A general way to take a screen shot on an Android device is to press the power button and volume-down key at the same time until you hear a sound.  I believe that swipe action is only for Samsung devices.

I've never noticed that snip tool on Windows.  Just tried it (on a Windows 7 PC), and it works nice.  Thanks for pointing that out.

AOPA is dropping their superb flight planner. Apparently, despite beign a "GA Advocate", they have no sway with Jeppesen who supplied data. Plus, they claim, their engine was out of date. But they are "workign hard" to find a replacement.

This is perfect timing for iFly to fill the gap. Please provide print nav-log, etc facilities, at least from the PC based version (though wireless printing from phones and tablets has been around for years too). I'm not THAT old (under 60 - just!), but I still like a printed nav log that I can make notes on for my kneeboard.
