In AOPA flight planner, I can enter departure, destination, and route via Low Airways. This causes the creation of a plan that takes me to a nearby fix, then follows Victor Airways to the destination airport.
I have yet to find the button in iFly that does the same thing, but I trust that it will show up someday. I know I can type in the Victor Airways, but this involves a bit of trial and error as I can't see both ends of the route. Rubber banding is also good but I was trying that in the Seatle area (going to Alaska from KTIW) and I couldn't see airways because I didn't have the Vancouver terminal area chart (there were T-ways all over the place but my GPS navigator is Nordo, as in 'I don't have one'). All the better if the plan can be generated automatically without all that decision making and human entry error anyway.
My request then is for the ability to just Copy (e.g. from 'Notepad' on a PC) then Paste into iFly's "Plan" field as a text string. The Windows version of iFly doesn't seem to support that; but I don't know about the tablets. I did a test and successfully copied the flight plan string from AOPA's 'Nav Log' into Notepad, so all I need is that last step.
Thanks,
DJ
