Backround:
Transferred a flight plan using the data Interlink between my IPad Air 2 (Master) to my IFly 720 (Slave). On the Master, I had to create two custom waypoints to mark 'Climb to Altitude' and 'Descend from Altitude'. Since these new custom waypoints are not in the Waypoint database on the Slave, IFly created two waypoints on the Slave and named them by their Lat/Lng coordinates. Checking the Custom Waypoint Database (Path below), I do not find either of them listed. I want to rename them to match the names I used on the Master. I would need to ADD them using LAT/LONG coordinates. Lot of extra work.
Navigation Screen > Menu > Custom Waypoints > Edit Custom Waypoint
Back in the Flight Plan window, clicking on OPT button opens the Options window. Clicking on Change button, opens the Search All window. This enables the pilot to search for waypoints. There are no options within the window to rename the waypoint. You can only search for waypoints listed in the database.
Back in the Flight Plan window, clicking on the underlined LAT/LONG coordinates opens the WayPoint Informaton Window. There are NO options within this window that enable me to rename the waypoint.
Suggestions:
(1) Create a function that enables the pilot to rename a custom waypoint that has been added to the flight plan either by rubber band changes (results in a Lat/Long waypoint name) or through the data interlink.
(2) Please enable the data interlink to flag custom waypoints added to the active flight plan. Compare them to the Slave's waypoint database. Enable the the interlink to add/update waypoints in the Slave device's Waypoint Database that are associated with the Active Flight Plan.
Assumption:
The waypoint database on the Master is always the most current for the active flight plan being used.
If the it turns out that the Slave does have more accurate/current data in it's waypoint database, then it is encumbant upon the pilot to update the waypoint database on the Master before establishing the data Interlink.
