Okay, maybe this a dumb question of the type "If you have to ask how much it is, you can't afford it." But I tried the Flight Tracking option on the QV Window on a Traffic Target yesterday. I don't understand what Flight Tracking is supposed to do. From its name, I thought it would show a track on screen of a target. But from what others are saying in the forum, it sounds like it simply creates a log file for the target for use elsewhere?

Reading your last question, I think you're asking if traffic targets from ADSB have an future track of target or track of the target.

I hope to fly tomorrow, but I don't recall on the Raspberry Pi ADSB target showing a track.

What the others are speaking of is the flight track of a flight you have taken recorded in the iFly.

I have not done it in a while, so I may be a little off on my explanation. But basically, when you tap an aircraft and tell it to track, it highlights the aircraft on the screen and stops giving you alerts on it. For instance, if you are flying in formation, you wouldn't want constant alerts for the aircraft you are flying with. There was a post from Shane a while back where he explains it.

Thanks all. When I tapped on a target, it froze it, with (apparently) a small 'T' symbol on it. I don't expect I'll ever use this function, but I'll look for Shane's explanation of it. (For the rare case of formation flying, perhaps there ought to be one more function, "Ignore this target" which would use the existing Ghost code to hide it? (Like, expand the radius for ghosting?))

We do it every weekend, and I most certainly want the formation targets shown... We're not like the Blue Angels, 18" apart. More like middle-aged crazies, 5 or 6 in all. High wings high, low wings low, and sometimes 1/2 mile wide with more planes from other fields looking to join up. I want the icons on the screen, just don't need the alert message for these targets.
