I know that you can use instrument layout add ETE and ETA to next step of a flight plan and to final destination.

However, what about the ability to QUICKLY determine/monitor TIME and DISTANCE to selected locations on a given track/heading? I see this as different than where you are specifically looking for the NEAREST airports. I also know you can already touch the screen on a tablet to determine the DISTANCE between 2 points (but that gives to static info about distance only).

This info could be especially useful with low fuel, bad WX, etc, where time is crucial and you might be trying to avoid emergency situations where you would need to find the nearest airport.

Nearest airports is a button at the bottom of the screen.

My request is different than nearest function. See my comments.

What, exactly, are you asking for? Are you asking the iFly to factor in winds in calculating time?

iFly does not know windspeed and direction. If you have an ADSB receiver, you may get winds data from that, but even so it's not exact enough to be used "where time is crucial and you might be trying to avoid emergency situations".

Or are you asking for the iFly to use your current groundspeed in calculating time to cover any distance you identify on the map? Again, that could be highly inaccurate if you're currently benefitting from a 30kt tailwind and ask how long it would take to get to someplace behind you.

How would you suggest iFly perform the calculations you envision?

I'm asking iFly to use my current ground speed , while assuming that I am attempting to fly directly to a newly determined location (assuming that it is relatively close). The resulting time would be re-calculated if current grnd speed changes. Would NOT replace flight plans or Nearest, it could be used to avoid emergencies in unexpected situations.
