MXP171,

You can touch the screen on your desired location (use a styles or fingernail if it needs to be accurate), then click "options", then touch "drop marker here". This will drop a marker that will not fade away, and it will always show your bearing and distance to that marker.

Does this help?

Thanks,
Walter

I also agree it would be very useful.

We are adding this feature to the next release. Couple of questions:

Would you want to see all the runway lines extended? This would be messy if flying into someplace like DFW...but otherwise I think that would be fine for 99% of the airports an iFly will be entering. And I think it would be preferable than requiring the pilot to select a particular runway to extend.

Do you think we should include a option in the Settings menu so users can turn on/off automatic runway extensions? Or just always do it? Also, any desire to enable this feature on an ad-hoc basis by touching an airport and selecting "Show extended runways"?

Thanks,
Walter

I've had this feature in all of my previous GPS's, but rarely use it. As I recall, I've use it just to play with, or to see what it actually does.

None the less...

I would think all the runway centerlines should be extended, no telling which runway/airport a person will choose. I hope it would only extend the runways at the airport in the flight plan.

There should be an option to turn one or more runway extensions on or off. Maybe through the airport information page. A button that would be visible directly from the main page. Push the button, find out the airport information, as well as the option to turn on or off one or more extensions. The only problem with accessing it through touching the airport, would be if I wanted to set up prior to the airport appearing on the screen.

Just show it for the desired airport. No sense having more clutter. Maybe it could be activated somehow with the airport info touch.
