Yeah I saw that too. The problem is not just choosing the runway but lining up the final on the line a distance from the runway for reasons mentioned previously - especially with faster aircraft.

I do agree that extensions lines would be handy. But at least if you can see the runway layout, you can determine which direction to approach the airport from.

I agree that the option for an extended runway centerline would be very helpful. I friend of mine has this feature on his 396 and it would appear to help with situational awareness, especially in low visibility conditions.

I talked to you about this at oshkosh, about the ability to throw a radial/dme point off a waypoint. you showed me that I can drag the courseline with the finger in the general direction, and this approximation works allright in calm air, but the DME is not even close to exact. So, how can we add a rad/dme capability from a vor or airfield?
