As we get more familiar with out aircraft, some of us are getting a little sloppy with following a checklist. Part of the problem seems to be trying to handle the paper when doing several other things in preparation for takeoff and landing. I would love to have a user customizable checklist that would be part of iFly GPS. I have a Bluetooth headset that I would like to be able to hear each checklist item and would allow me to make a verbal "check" or "skip" response before the checklist would continue to the next item. I have looked for an android app that could be integrated into my iFly software but have found nothing with the capability I would like.

We've got a Checklist feature on the wishlist, but nothing in terms of an audible checklist. I'll add that. We do support Written Check lists in minimal form on the dedicated iFly devices and are working to support it on the App.

There might be some options for a Text to Speech to integrate with a text list, to basically read the Checklist aloud. I'll have to check with Brian and Walter on the ability to support Text to Speech within our app.

Not sure how you feel about parterning with other developers or incorporating someone else's features in to yours but Checkmate has a pretty good app for checklists that might be an easier and cheaper way to get the feature incorporated. I can get to it by switching apps on my android tablet with a couple of button pushes but a closer integration with iFly and the flight plan that takes into account weather, time of day info, etc.. might allow some opportunities for a "smart" checklist. (night flight vs day, IFR vs VFR, even a filing reminder if it sees a flight plan but it hasn't been sent - or closed at the end of the flight).

We've got a NRST button, maybe an Emergency or Checklist button that loads the emergency procedures checklist would be useful. Set it up like an Instrument button that could be added or not. Or pops up similar to the terrain profile display.

Incorporating some sort of checklist function to iFly is not much different than having to flip pages on the kneeboard to find a particular checklist. And if you don't have time to tap the screen you don't have time to find paper.

We are open to integrating with other developers. We've done it before. Just have to make sure it works in code as we have a universal app that is supported on Android, iOS and our iFly device. Soon to come to Windows as well. I'm looking at the Checkmate Checklist site now and will dig into it more. They have some fairly exhastive A/C profiles. Thanks for the info.

Shane, considering the need for a text to voice converter, it might be easier for us to just record the voice ourselves and have the checklist stored as a voice file. I already have a detailed checklist but it is hard to manage when flying by yourself. My primary concern would be for the pre-start, pre-take off, after takeoff, pre-landing, and emergency checklist. I don't see any of them being terriblly long except for the pre-take off list. As someone suggested, having a link on the menu would work to access a non-iFly file as long as it didn't interfere with ifly flight operations. My primary need is for it to be a verbal checklist with my ability to go down the list from item to item verbally through the bluetooth connection to my headset.
