Questions about Approved Systems -- the FAA requirements for ADS-B:

1- Can the systems out there that are specified for Experimental and LSA airplanes be installed in SLSA or are they only approved for EAB and Experimental LSA (ELSA)?

2- Is it approved to install a certified GA system in a SLSA aircraft ?

3- If you install a Certified GA system in a SLSA will it qualify for the $500 rebate?

4- If you install a Certified GA system in a EAB or ELSA aircraft will it qualify for the $500 rebate?

I'm 99 percent certain that the ADS-B out you install in an SLSA must be approved by the manufacturer of the airplane. I don't know, but I would think by now, most manufacturers would have an approved solution in place.

Thanks for the help. So, once it is installed with the manufactures approval and signed off by the DAR in a SLSA, or by the builder In an ELSA, does anyone know if a certified unit would qualify for the FAA $500 rebate?
