Probably the easiest thing to do would be make a copy of the micro SD card and keep it in your flight bag. You will probably never need it and can avoid the hassle of a "proper" shut-down. Or, as I do, have a spare micro SD card at home. I think most of us can complete our flight safely without a Stratux. One reason I keep a spare, I have renamed my Stratux as StratuxJGF and access it as a password protected private network so my curious neighbors won't log on when I'm using iFly and Stratux at home on my computer. I also don't have to turn on printer and file sharing.

Mike, you only have to turn off logging once per OS load.  That is, anytime you reflash or replace the SD card.  It seems to be on by default but maybe that will change in the future.

OK, that is helpful...thanks much.  Mike

Yes, I was thinking the same thing, Tim - agree with this logic. (a few posts back).

How difficult is it to format these SD cards to be "good to go" for flight?

Is there a place I can simply buy them pre-formatted and ready to go as extras for this purpose?  I would gladly do so and pay the "few dollars more" to have them done right and be fully operational/reliable.

This is my 100th post on this site!

OK, I think I answered my own question on the "pre-formatted and programmed SD cards." They are on Amazon for around $15 and ready to go the moment they arrive.

This is helpful to a person not very well-versed in programming (like me, and I suspect, many others afraid to admit it).

Gents, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all the help and knowledge here - I am learning so much.

Warm Regards, Mike Marra

Or you can order a micro SD card already programmed on Amazon for about $15.

I posted this three pages back.
