Hello iFly Family,

We have been flying with iFly on a tablet of one form or another since about 2015 and are very happy.  I use a Samsung S2 and my wife an ASUS.  When connected on wifi to the Navworx in the back on the plane, my Samsung stops processing ADSB/WAAS data and then after 15 seconds comes back.  My wife didn't see this on her ASUS.  Fast forward and she has a new Samsung tablet and hers now drops out of ADSB and back in more than mine does.  We are perplexed.  It is not dropping out of wifi - that remains connected just fine.  It is ifly deciding its doesn't like the stream and then deciding it does.

Reading through some of the posts, the thing to do seems to turn on ADSB logging and then we can attach it to see if it can be made sense of (next flight), but wanted to check in to see if anyone else had seen such a phenomena.

Cheers,

Andrew

Are you also using a Navworx for ADSB?

Can both of you please Enable ADS-B Logging and the next time this happens, after you land, Send Bug Report => Select Log => then scroll to find the ADSB Log with the correct date (the filename will have ADSB in name, otherwise, it's a non-ADSB log).

Since it's happening on multiple devices, maybe we can reproduce and provide a fix.

I am using a Freeflight 978 Rx. This problem seemed to start when I upgraded my very old Samsung tablet to the Samsung S6. The old table was rock solid with the Freeflight. The upgrade to the S6 changed tablet hardware and Android OS versions. Since there was no change to the Freeflight, I assumed that somehow iFly was not happy with something in the table hardware/OS.

My symptoms: The GPS status box would switch from ADSB to the internal GPS. Radar presentations would be pixelized and patchy. Within a few minutes, the connection would be reestablished, and information updated. Then a few minutes later it would drop out again. This would continue for the length of the flight.

I'll get you a log the next flight.
