Asus ZenPad P001 with android 6.0.1

The longest setting available for the tablet to go to sleep is 10 minutes. When I initialize the app at the start of preflight & doing cockpit checklist, the app goes to sleep and it is cumbersome to wake up while receiving taxi clearance with the Hobbs meter running. Today I had it running while taxiing and it displayed my position on the taxiway perfectly, but upon checking it after becoming airborne, it was asleep again.

I want to panel mount it in an experimental, but it's useless if it just dozes off every 10 minutes.

Is there a way to keep the tablet awake while the app is running ? I have tried everything I can find in the display/security/power management settings, nothing longer than 10 minutes.

We instruct Android to keep the tablet awake while the app is running.  If you push the app into the background or run another app, it will go to sleep.  But as long as iFly is in up and running, this shouldn't happen.  Maybe you have some power saving app or setting that is overriding this?  Is the device doing this while on battery, or while plugged into power?
