Brian, thanks for the prompt problem solving answer.

You're absolutely correct, turning on the fixes/intersections in the map mode menu works to allow selecting an intersection in flight planning when viewing the sectional chart. However, regardless whether the fixes/intersections are checked, they still show up on the sectional leading one to believe that they could be selected - just like airports along the route.

In Vector map mode, the same check box turns the fixes/intersections on/off altogether, which is different behavior than on the sectional chart view, where checking/unchecking the box has no apparent effect until the user tries to select the fix/intersection to add to a flight plan.

I really appreciate the excellent support that the iFly team provides it's customers - wish all companies would provide such great customer service! Now back to flight planning our spring exodus west!

With "fixes" selected, I am able to "long tap" on any IFR airway intersection, then add it to a flight plan or fly direct to it. Maybe you are just tapping instead of long tap (tap and hold). This is while using VFR Sectionals. I can also "rubber band" to them. Also, try enlarging your map so that your tap is more precise.

And the secret to this working is to have fixes/interections selected in the map mode in the first place. That was the step I was missing as pointed out by Brian earlier.

Thanks for your input, I've got it working now.

In 9.5, snap to fixes will be enabled in VFR mode, even if Fixes layer is off, *if* you are zoomed in a bit further. This way, you don't have to enable the layer just to snap-to fixes which are showing on the Sectional map.

For 9.5, if you have the fixes layer enabled, it simply does snap-to from a bit further out.

It wasn't right for us in 9.4 to make it too hard to snap-to fixes, and so for 9.5, we've swung the pendulum back to where it should have been in the first place. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
