Running 9.4.68 on Android.

Maybe I missed something, but I'm pretty sure that prior to the latest update in iFly when dragging a proposed flight path on the sectional I could easily select a Victor intersection as a fly to point (waypoint?). When creating new flight plans today I found that I could no longer do so - no matter how carefully I moved the flight path I could not get iFly to list the intersection as an option to add to the flight plan, only the lat/lon coordinate.

I tried going into the flight plan and adding the intersection directly which worked just fine. Seems to me that dragging the flight path marker directly over an intersection should include that point (the same as when dragging the flight path over an airport) when creating flight paths/plans.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure why you would want/need to, but I just tested it and I am able to drag a flight path to a depicted IFR intersection on a Sectional chart.

Let me add some clarification to my situation. Let's say I'm planning a flight from KMRN to H34 in AR. But for what ever reason I decide that I'd rather extend my flight plan past H34 and instead substitute the intersection CASKS (18 nm 192 degrees away) to my flight plan. I can't drag the magenta line over CASKS and have it available in iFly as a choice to ad to my flight plan, only the lat/lon of the selected point on the sectional.

Old Pilot - if this is working for you, it's not for me - hence my post.

And the reason we want to do this is that we like to plan our flights in iFly, then duplicate the flight path in our Garmin 430. It's much simpler to add intersections in the Garmin as opposed to lat/lon points.

Try dragging the flight path to the desired intersection and insert it into your flight plan, then go into your flight plan and move it down so it becomes the last fix in your flight plan. Or use IFR low charts to add it to the end of your flight plan. Both methods will work. It does not surprise me that IFR intersections might not work using VFR charts.

I am not able to reproduce your problem using an IPad.

Hi Mark, sorry for the inconvenience/shock of this change. Please go tap the MapMode button at bottom, then scroll the bottom panel up until you see "Fixes" show... and check the box.

Then for 9.4 you have to zoom in a bit further (e.g. 26 nm width for tablet mode) while in VFR mode for it to recognize the fix. For 9.5, we'll be scooting out this threshold a bit, to make it even easier. Currently, in 9.4 you have to be zoomed in a bit further than might be natural. We consider this a bit of a mess-up and are fixing it for 9.5.
