I've duplicated some of the issues, not all, and not consistently. But I'm certainly seeing something wrong. We'll get this figured out...

I flew this morning for about an hour (and for sure avoiding trying to downloading anything)

The system locked up about 3 times during that time, where it asked to wait or shutdown, and also had very slow response to commands much of the time. But it was working at least part of the time :)

Nice features - traffic was seen, weather metars and TAF read, etc, just not working fast and reliably yet...

Hope that OS update comes out soon!

P.S. I had 2 questions

1.Does iFly communicate via UDP or TCP on wifi (Freeflight tells me if i want to run 2 devices off their wifo network both apps have to be UDP and neither can be TCP or else its limited to 1 device at a time...

2. Using the instrument panel screen i noted my altitude was shown assuming 29.92 as the baro pressure (but it was 30.61 today) so it was way off - is there a way to set the baro pressure in iFly, or have it use the nearest METAR , to set the baro pressure so it read out more correctly on the intrument panel?

Dwight

I bought my Ipad subscription this weekend - now just need to sign up for multidevice for my Android -

Furledd, we have a new release of iFly (8.4.80) ready for public release tomorrow which fixes the OS 5.0 lock-ups.

iFly uses UDP for all wifi connections, so multiple connections should work.

Dwight, the iFly shows "GPS altitude", it does not attempt to show pressure altitude. Such a feature is on our wishlist, but unless a baromoter is involved it won't be able to correct for errors in the GPS data. (And, btw, GPSes are very good at finding horizontal position, but vertical position is more error prone for various reasons)

Thanks,
Walter

I just got todays latest iFly update on Lollipop -

Downloaded the maps and data for whole state of Georgia without 1 time having to restart.

Download issue seemes to be fixed ! Great work.... no Android OS update yet that i have seen being pushed yet..

On the Altitude/barometer discussion, my thought would be to show "Alt(MSL uncorrected)" if no local Metar is available, otherwise have it show "Alt(MSL Corrected)" if you are able to get METAR information within 50 miles of the Aircraft, for example (Metar data meaning specifically the local barometric pressure)

Dwight
