The problem is they are going push Android 5.0 to the Nexus 7 starting this week.

The 4.4.4 upgrade notification displayed on my Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 for a month or two before I chose to let it run. I'd expect the 5.0 upgrade to be the same -- completely discretionary for the user.

My Nexus 7 (2013) just now showed me that the ‘Android 5.0 System Upgrade’ is available. I’m going to do my best to avoid causing this to happen until the iFly gurus can assure me that the iFly app will work properly with it.

Guaranteed that there will be other issues with it. I won't do anything before the end of 2014, then we will be out of the country for almost a month, so in early Feb. I'll start checking the internet forums to see whether it is time to take the medicine. AFIK 5.0 brings me nothing that is important.

5.0 runs perfectly on my Nexus 7

Cheers!

FWIW, I have read in some of the Android forums that 5.0 performs fine on 2013 Nexus 7's but is a no-no for 2012 Nexus 7's due to the increased processor load of the default data encryption used in 5.0. As I read, data encryption was optional in previous versions.
