Yes, iFly GPS is my most important app also! Thought if I reported it here there might be a log file I can pull that could help someone fix the problem.

Hopefully Someone will get the OTA update and report in.

Thanks. If you can reproduce this crash once more, and then on the next restart of iFly, select "Menu => About => Send Bug Report" to send us that log. These bug reports only send us two logs -- the current one and the previous one. So in order for us to get the log associated with the crash, you have to do "Send Bug Report" on the start-up following a crash.

Re system upgrades:

At my company we had a table in the accounting department. When our accounting software vendor came out with a major release, a box containing new manuals, quick reference cards, and discs would arrive. This box went under that table, unopened. During the next six months, the inevitable updates, corrections, and patches would arrive and go, again unopened, on top of the box. Only after six months would we check the internet and the user groups to see whether it was safe to open the box. Remember the rules: #1 The best software in the world is the stuff you just bought and have not yet installed. #2 The guys out front are the ones with arrows in their chests.

My guess is that I"ll consider upgrading in February or March of next year. In the mean time, I appreciate you guys' catching all those arrows for me.

It's related to the Nexus 7 device upgrade to 5.0. I have confirmed with other users that the iFly GPS App works without issue on Android 5.0 on the new Nexus 9 out of the box. Google and Android broke something on the upgrade. iFly GPS is one of the only aviation apps working on the new Nexus 9 and Android 5.0.
