I tried it and twice it fell of the window, I can see how you use some velcro to hold the arm. I like it on the left but I feel it blocks more the view outside than the main panel inside. I have tried different positions when back on the ground and have not figured out which best.
I was suprised by the weight of the RAM mount and Ipad together, even positioning the arm such that it lays on top of thge dash it still creates soem pull down force. I think the best place would be on the right where there is this access panel. Connect it to the panel it would work.
