On my 720, the way to get rid of the (Pre) networks is to go into the wifi setup, select the network, then click "Delete".

Due to the aforementioned "quirks", this can be tricky, because if you're not in range of the (Pre) network at the time, the "(Pre)" network names may appear and disappear, so they can be tricky to select.  If you don't see a (Pre) that you think is probably there, try turning wifi off and then back on again.  On my 720, that causes the "(Pre)" network names to appear for a second while the device is scanning the airwaves for other currently-available networks.  Once the currently-available networks list populates, the out-of-rnage (Pre) networks are no longer listed (though it might toggle between those two lists a couple of times before settling out).

If you have several (Pre) networks defined, you may have to toggle wifi off/on several times to get the opportunity to delete them all (except for the one you use in your plane--your goal is to have ONLY that one network defined as "(Pre)").

Like I said..."quirky"....  It's why I only have my Stratux network defined and don't mess with trying to connect to any other networks.  Just not worth the hassle.

Thanks to all who gave suggestions on deleting the PRE network.  QUIRKY is an ideal descriptor!  Sometimes my 740 connects quickly to my home netwotk, sometimes not all.  Occasionally it connects slowly.  I never know what to expect or what is affecting its behavior

Quirky is the word. I have an unusual issue with the pre WiFis because I actually live about 250 yards from the runway at about the center of the airport. I can't receive my home WiFi at the hanger when I start the plane but If I don't disconnect my (pre) home WiFi the iFly will disconnect from my UAvionics Echo UAT (purchased thru iFly) ADSB which doesn't have a passcode and select my home WiFi as I pass by at 2-300ft. It doesn't work long but the iFly gps usually needs to be reconnected to the ADSB manually through network settings. It's really a hassle once you're in the air and busy with more important stuff. I've not seen a delete button any where on my 740 just disconnect which only lasts until the next power cycle. Bob

" I've not seen a delete button any where on my 740 just disconnect which only lasts until the next power cycle."  Sounds like maybe that's a difference between how the 740 works and how my 720 works.  I don't have a 740 so can't compare.

720 and 740b use wildly different wifi modules so that explains the lack of a delete key.
