Rich,

You experienced the same symptoms I had and was unable to ever get the system to function more than 10-15 minutes without rebooting. This has to do with the databurst and wifi protocol Sagetech uses to help reduce their power consumption.

I could not continue to use the device especially in the soup when I am busy flying the plane!

The iLevil SW is working great (if you do not need adsb out) and I would recommend it over the Sagetech in our situation.

Paul : Thanks for the info . I will contact Clarity on Monday . I had no idea I needed a specific S/N to use the Clarity with the 720 . An I Fly 720 is an I Fly 720 and how would I know what S/N I was getting ? The other concern I have with the Clarity is the heat issue . It gets extremely hot and presents a cockpit fire hazard . They sent me a plastic "hat" to cover the unit from the sun and they also now have a solar powered fan to try and cool the unit ?

I am a round steam gauge powered kind of guy and with the increase in technology I find more pilots are heads down trying to "program"/ figure out what in the hell the "box" is telling them .. Don't get me wrong I love the I Fly 700/720 for the situational awareness it gives you and that is why I mounted the unit eye level with the glare shield . I can still see outside and use the unit . I love the unit ! IFR never with either unit . I Fly support has been great ! Let's see what happens with Clarity ?

Rich,

Final pirep on the iLevil SW and the iFly 720. I put it through the paces yesterday and with .21 installed on the iFly no problems at all! The 2 worked together perfectly and I had alerts for legitimate traffic and a few weather cells (way off in the distance as it was VFR ).

The combo gets my vote!

Paul: I am going to call Clarity next week and hopefully they will let me return the unit . I'll report back on the good , the bad and the ugly .

Paul: Contact Clarity today and the new young man in the sales dept. completely understood the problem and issued an
RMA # to return the unit for a full refund ! He seems to be on the same page that it is in the best interest of BOTH Companies to resolve to resolve the WiFi connect problem . More sales for BOTH Companies ! Seems to be a no brainer ? I also addressed the extreme heat issue with the Clarity as I thought it was a cockpit fire hazard .
