I recently installed the echoUAT and Skyfix ADSB system in my rv6. I had a friend pick up the 740B at Oshkosh for me. I tried it for the first time this weekend and it worked great with the echoUAT. You won't have a problem connecting your phone and 740 to the wifi of the echoUAT. I haven't tried transferring a plan but I know that they will both connect to the wifi.
Not sure I understand what you're proposing, Dave--but it sure sounds nice!
It's true that several iFly devices can connect to the "Ping" echoUAT router at the same time. And one iFly device can SHARE a flight plan to a different iFly device IF they're on the same wifi network AND if both (or all) are iOS devices. I don't know about Android devices, or if it will work with a 740 or 740b. (Can't try my 740 today, but doubt it will work because iOS uses Apple's "Airdrop" system, which the 740 lacks.)
As for SYNC, as far as I know it requires that the flight plan has to pass from one iFly to the other via the Adventure Pilot server, and that requires both iFly devices to have Internet connections. Unfortunately, I think Ping does not connect to the Internet, so the sync would have to be a local operation--from one iFly device to another over the local wifi.
It would be terrific if one iFly device could connect to another iFly device via Ping (or any other local wifi router) or directly via wifi. I don't know how that can work now; but I imagine that AP could make it work in software updates.
Or am I missing something that's already done?
