I have an Ifly740 which I think is the best product of it's type on the market.  I love mine and have used it to fly thousands of miles.  Recently I ran into a problem.  I installed a GRT EFFS and have two navigators providing NMEA information to it.   GPS 2 input is a Garmin 300XL and the other is the 740.  When the Garmin is selected on the EFIS, the flight plan in the Garmin is entered on the EFIS and works correctly  If the plan is changed enroute by me on the Garmin, the new routing is shown on the EFIS, no issues.  When I first power up the 740, and the EFIS is set to GPS1 (740) any flight plan in the 740 is transferred to the EFIS, no problem.  If however I change the flight plan enroute, the new flight plan is NOT transferred to the EFIS.  If I then power off the 740 and turn it back on, then the new plan will be sent to the EFIS.   I also have an Ipad in the cockpit and I can share the new flight plan with the Ipad from the 740 with no problem, but it still will not send it to the EFIS  .What can I do to fix this?  By the way, I have the 740 also connected to my TruTrak Vision autopilot and it works flawlessly.

Additional info.  I have NMEA settings set to 9600 (correct for the GRT) and all the sentences are checked.

Next time that happens, click menu/about/connected devices and see if it says "NMEA output controller". If yes, click it to see if it's outputting data, if no, disconnect the cable and reconnect it. Is this a chronic issue or somethign that just happened?

Did not check the device connection, but yes, it is a chronic function, repeatable with precision.  If the 740 is turned on with a flight plan on, the plan is transferred to the EFIS.  If the 740 is turned on with no flight plan, then there is no plan transferred to the efis.  If a flight plan is then entered into the 740, the plan is transferred to the efis.  Once the plan is in the efis, the plan will not be cancelled in the efis, nor will it be modified in the efis if the plan is cleared in the 740.  Both of these things DO occur if the GNC300 is used as the GPS source.  I can enter or modifiy a plan in the GNC300 and it is transferrred to the efis every time.  This pattern is always repeatable, not just once in a while.

OK, now did that and a bunch of other things.  It will still put a new flight plan in the EFIS if the plan is in the 740 when power is turned on to the 740.  When the flight plan is changed in the 740, the EFIS turns the magenta plan path to white and does not display the changed flight plan.  When I go to menu/about/connected devices it shows the Stratux and the NMEA Output.  When I touched NMEA Output the display window closed and nothing happened, no infomation, nothing changed.  At that point the 740 was locked up.   If I touched an airport on the map, nothing popped up.  If I touched the flight plan button the flight plan window popped up and I could not close the window.  No matter what I touched in the flight plan window, nothing responded.  All I could do is turn off the power with the power button.  the 740 was hung up.  I repowered the 740 and went through this sceanrio three more times with the same result each time.  Touching the NEMA Output choice in the about/connected devices window caused the 740 to essentilally quit working.

I've never seen it freeze based on nmea output. i'll do some internal testing and see what's really going on here
