I have been updating my 740B using my home wifi.  Today I went to update the device, and got a warning that the iFly servers could not be found, and to check my internet connection.

I did so, and the iFly could not see my home wifi network, AT ALL.  It saw tons of other neighborhood networks, but not mine.  I have used this network many time in the past.  I checked everything with the network...I have 11 other devices successfully connected to it, the WPA2 settings are correct, SSID and password correct, but the network does not even show up in the wifi network list.  When I manually enter the network info it fails to authenticate to the network, and still shows zero bars on the network and can't see it.  This is with the device 3 feet from the wifi router.

I have a wifi extender on a different network, it *does* see that network.  I connect to that one okay, but it still gives me the same error that it can't connect to the iFly servers.

I did a factory reset on the device and that did not fix the issue, it's exactly the same.

Can somebody help?  Is this device broken?  I am a network engineer for a living, so I'm pretty sure I understand simple wifi networks.

Are you running a new router? Does it only not recognize your home network?

i have seen similiar issue.  I have trouble connecting about 20 feet away when it used to be no problem.   My laptop connects at the same location everyday.   I move the 740 closer to the router(about 5 feet) and it connects just fine.   Curious to see if you can connect closer to the router also?

That might just be a function of your router. Completely unrelated from the OP

Same problem here! Have had the unit for less than a week. First turned it on and it found the network and it logged on okay. Now it will not find the network. Stood next to the router and it can not find the network. Manually input the network & network key and hit connect and the screen freezes. After 5 minutes reboot and sometimes it will see the network but still will not connect! The screen freezes a lot and requires a reboot before screen inputs can be made. The remote will allow LCD on/off and screen intensity changes but nothing else until a reboot.

Also when I carried the unit from my computer to the router by the time I went back to the computer (less than 5 minutes) the battery went from fully charged to warning battery low. Seems like the battery is pretty useless if it will only last that long.
