I was able to get far enough in once that the screen offered to send a log.  I forwarded that log to the address you posted above.  Thanks for looking into this.

Jason,

I read this entire thread.  I have exactly the same problem.  If you connect to the internet, it resolves itself.  However, like for you, this is unacceptable for me, too.

I can imagine several possible solutions.  I hope IFlyGPS fixes this.  I sent them a note via the customer service webpage.  Scott

Hey Scott - and whoever else reads this - we found the culprit! 

It's a function of an issue with an SD card: Install the app without the SD card inserted after clearing the cache and it should work. If it doesn't, please let me know.
