For anyone having trouble getting X-Plane to work with IFlyGPS, here is some info to help.
I'm new to IFlyGPS so with everyone being in virus isolation, I thought I would spend some time using X-Plane to get to know all the IFlyGPS features during an in flight scenario.
I'm using the IFlyGPS app ver:11.0.74 on a Samsung Tab 6 8.4" tablet w/ Android ver: 6.0.1 and on my Pixel 3aXL with Android ver: 10.
Initially, I couldn't get X-Plane to connect. I knew the network was good and the tablet was on the same network. I've connected X-Plane to other EFBs via multiple means so I'm familar with those settings and new everything was correct. I felt like it had to be a setting in IFlyGPS. What I found was that I had set my ADS-B device setting to "Stratux/Flightbox" because I had been testing my stratux with the app earlier. As soon as I switched the device to "Auto Detect", the IFlyGPS app snapped to the X-Plane location.
Stangely, I could change the setting back to Stratux after it connected and it would stay connected...but on initial start, it had to be in the "Auto Detect" device setting in order to see the X--Plane data. I repeated this mulitple times with consistency across both my devices. Not sure why I didn't leave the setting in "Auto Detect" in the first place but I guess I'm a geek and like to push buttons. In any case, if you're having issues connecting X-Plane to IFlyGPS and you've changed your ADS-B device setting away from "Auto-Detect", that could be your problem.
Perhaps something in the next manual update about needing the ADS-B device setting to be in "Auto Detect" might be worth including.
Very happy with the app.
