I queried uAvionix...Was told Shane has no idea what the issue is. (Ping Buddy USB reporting incorrect altitudes).

My brother sent me his Ping and it also reported inaccurate altitudes of 2,000' or more.

I believe this issue has been solved.  The ping is sending an "Ownship" record indicating a 0' altitude.  (I didn't even thing the Ping was sending ownship as it doesn't have a GPS...but it is).  This message is screwing with the calculations normalizing pressure altitude.  It has been corrected in v11.  In the meantime, you can get past this issue by touch Menu -> Setup -> Units of Measure, and uncheck "Pressure Altitude Support"

THANKS,  changed the setting yesterday and it works as expected.   Was using flight following and he didn't turn either one of use. Opposing aircraft was a few hundred feet below in the opposite direction.  With it now reporting alt correctly ,   much more diligent about looking for aircraft and eyes strictly outside when traffic is nearby.  Glad this feature is working, reliable, and much more accurate.

Again thanks ,
