Hey all...

I just finished upgrading the panel in my E-LSA airplane to include an iFly 740b in an Airgizmo dock.  I just finished all the wiring, but when I put the iFly-supplied USB-to-DB9 cable for my autopilot into the unit, it no longer fits in the dock!  The cable comes out at the bottom a good 1/2" beyond the dock plastic.  I can't just cut a hole for it to fit, because my radio tray is directly below the dock.

I'm assuming I need some kind of 90° USB adapter, but there is not good way to tell in advance which one might fit.  Does iFly have a recommendation?  It seems weird that iFly doesn't have the cable they sell in their store have a 90° USB end, since I'd guess 90% of people that buy that cable for NMEA output intend to install it in an Airgizmo dock.

Any help or recommendations are apprciated.

Am I in the wrong place for factory support on this device?

You'll probably want a right-angle USB adapter and then depending on which one you buy, you may still have to cut the AirGizmos mount. iFly lets you rotate the display clockwise or counter-clockwise, so you may be able to rotate it 180 degrees to free up some clearance by moving the adapter to the top.

The AirGizmos docks aren't quite as popular as you think. Because the bezel is so large, a lot of pilots fashion their own mounting solution.

While AP is quite good at interacting with their users here on this forum, this is not their primary customer support interface, so an immediate response is not guaranteed.  For immediate assistance, it's best to call the customer support phone number during normal business hours.
