TOO-RIFFIC!!!  I've been hoping for surface analysis charts--or something that displays isobars and highs and lows.  Just tried it on my Windows machine--VERY cool!

Alas, it isn't working on my iPhone. "Image download FAILED" is what it gets. Is that because the phone is not receiving ADS-B?

And if that's so, then I have a new reason to wish for an alternative way to get ADS-B "in" data to the phone.  (The phone gets it in the airplane--IF I remember to make it connect to the uAvionix box via wifi. It can also get cell data via Verizon at the same time.)

When I see "Image download FAILED" on the iPhone, there's also a URL for 1-800-wx-brief.com/....  Wouldn't it be lovely if iFly could login via wifi or the cell network and get the chart that way, too!

I believe that you do need to have an internet connection for it to work. If you are in flight and try to download the images, you will probbaly get that error.

Maybe you do. I can't test that right now. Earlier I was going on what happened with iPhone iFly--but that was before realizing that there's a bug in the current iOS version that prevents the charts from loading. Brian says that bug is fixed, but the fixed version has to be approved by Apple before we can test it.

I hope it works with EITHER wifi/cell OR ads-b--because that will make it work on all versions of iFly, whether they have ads-b data, or not.

ADSB weather broadcasts do not include surface analysis charts.  Bandwidth is very limited...you will not ever see high-resolution imagery like that via current ADSB technology.  Maybe "Next-Next Gen"...
