I made a cardboard mockup of the unit to see how it would fit in my Warrior and a concern I have is that it takes up more windshield space then I was hoping for. If I move it to the side, of the winshield, I block some to left instruments. Has anyone done an install in a Piper PA-28? I'm now looked at mounting the unit near the throttle / mixture quad. This would require a gooseneck mount in order not to interface with the flap handle and would require an external gps antenna.
Walter, what kind of mount does the Ifly 700 accept if I try to use a gooseneck mount for a GPS unit?
PA28-140. It covers my clock (which I don't use), and the left half of my airspeed indicator, which I (unfortunately) don't use either!
Hope that helps. The unit is big, and it took a few moves to get it exactly where I wanted it. A yoke mount would be optimal.
