I prefer a fixed mount, not mounted on a moving yolk. Besides, the yolk in a Tri-Pacer is closed across the top. Being cramped for panel space, my solution was to mount my iFly at the top of the steel frame member above the pilot. (Top left of windshield in 1st picture). It is highly visible and easy to read and within reach. It does not block my view out the windshield or impair viability, especially because I added a skylight when I restored the airplane two years ago. The mount is made from RAM parts ordered from Aircraft Spruce: 1. The part that clamps to the frame member is: #11-02005 RAM BASE U BOLT 1" BALL. 2. The articulating arm is part # 11-01255 RAM ARM 3-1/2" MED 1" BALL. 3. And #11-09918 RAM CRADLE IFLY 700 mounts a 1" ball in the iFly slot in the back of the iFly unit. Currently the power cord runs down the frame member to the cigarette lighter but that will eventually get connected to the circuit breaker panel. These pictures show the details. By the way, those are green "slap-on" sun visors (Sporty's) on the skylight and windshield. I have had no problems with glare and can easily see the iFly in all lighting conditions..
iFly is in upper left of windshield
The top of the iFly rests against the top cockpit cross-member, making for a solid backstop behind it.
The green slap-on sun visors from Sporty's on the skylight above the iFly (and on windshield)..
A twist of the knob releases the iFly for easy removal, remounting or repositioning.
