I purchased an iFly700 with optional external battery back in March 2011. I wanted it available to fly with, when I got home to the U.S. for my annual vacation in May...... Upon arrival home (Kansas) I opened my new package and following all instructions, charged the battery and set about learning my new toy. The external battery was used, after charging and performed flawlessly for several hours while I played with the iFly on the back porch.

Time to go fly...... everything up and running, battery pack shows all green lights, fully charged, ready to take-off and screen goes blank. Checked connections, O.K. checked battery pack, NO LIGHTS.... went flying with my back up Garmin 196 and when I got home tried to troubleshoot the battery pack problem.

I first recharged it... all green lights lit when tested. Left it sit overnight and rechecked again, all green lights lit.... plugged it into iFly and turned battery ON, and immediately red light goes off and no green lights are on when tested.... iFly screen never came on. Recharged and tried again, same results.

iFly works fine on wall socket and cigarette lighter socket adapters, just not battery pack.

I realize it's past the return by date, and I'm back overseas anyway... just wondering if anyone else has had a battery pack problem.

PS not sure what forum this fit under.

The external battery has an on-off switch- is it turned on.

Hi GPM,

You can post things like this in the iFly Owners forum - if you are a subscriber you will have access to that forum.

It sounds like you may have a defective battery, or perhaps the battery cable is defective. If you send an e-mail to support@adventurepilot.com, or call 1-888-200-5129, you can chat with Ed and he will help debug and resolve the problem. If the battery is defective we will send you a replacment.

Thanks,
Walter
