I made a mount that was clamped above the yoke but didn’t like it since it stuck up too far and blocked the panel. I also wanted a place to put a timer. After much fiddling, the gadget shown in the first three “yoke_mount_n” photos evolved. This is shown in a Cherokee, but it has also been used in a Cessna and a Grumman. The clamp is from the hardware store and was intended to mount a broom handle to the wall. The heavy but flexible plastic strap was cut from the lid of a big plastic tub. The white standoffs are adhesive backed weather stripping (foam tape). The small bungee cord at the bottom should be snug but not too tight. An acorn nut is used under the Ifly700 in order to not scratch the yoke.

In the Cherokee, another simple mount, shown in “mic_mount” photo, was made from 1 X 1/16 Aluminum flat stock to attach the Ifly700 to the microphone clip. It does get in the way of the flap handle and has to be dismounted during takeoffs and landings, but it has the advantage of being viewable by everyone in the plane, including folks in the back seats.

I’m sure this can all be improved …
