One of the other threads asked about actual photos with the Ifly700 mounted on the new yoke mount that is offered. Attached are photos I took today in a C172 (hope they all attached to this thread). The mount seems to work well. When I received it, the box had three plastic bag packages consisting of the mount part (RAP-B-121BU) that goes on the yoke and another component (RAM-B-201U) that the ifly attaches to. It did not come put together so I had to figure it out. I have one small bag of extra washer and screw and a small plate that I didn't know what to do with..instructions would have been nice. The only thing I had to go on was the photo of the assembled yoke on the adventure pilot website and the Ifly store. The yoke mounted well and is adjustable, so I guess these extra parts are for some other type of mounting, You might be able to save a few bucks by ordering directly from Ram Mounting Systems, www.ram-mount.com but you would have to know what to order, there are dozens of variations to these mounts. These numbers above must have been arrived at based upon a mounting for the I-fly, so had I gone to the Ram Mounting Systems site, I would not have known what combination to order, Ordering from Adventure Pilot is probably the way to go, since you will get what is needed for the ifly700.

Anyway, the yoke mount works well, glad they came up with it. Reception to the unit is fine, I do not need a supplementary antenna.

In looking at Wayne's pictures, this mount might not work well for us. We need the iFly to sit almost as if it were attached with Velcro to the center of the yoke, as we need visibility above the yoke. I am wondering, with the extension being almost parallel to the pipe, how far forward it actually holds the unit? I know for certain that 3" won't do the trick, and we will probably need something closer to 5". Can we get such a 'widget' from RAM ?

I read the comments to my initial posting where I included some photos of the ifly700 mounted to the RAM yoke system. There was some concern expressed in those comments about the positioning of the ifly on the arm which I had it slightly elevated. At that time I sat in the plane and in that position I was able to pretty much view all of the gauges on the panel behind the ifly.

Today, I remounted the unit, but went to see how low I can get the ifly above the airplane yoke. See these updated photos, I got the horizontal arm fairly level to get the ifly lower. Photos E-0227 and E-0228 show this. The result is in photo E-0225 of what I see when looking over the ifly. In my opinion I can see all of the panel gauges. The camera was at my eye level when I took the E-0225 photo. One thing...I have the seat up high ( I always like to fly with the seat high...even before this mounting). Again, as in the other photos I posted a few days ago, this is in a C172, so I don't know what effect this all has in another type of aircraft.

Hope these updated photos help...in my case, I don't need to make modifications to the yoke mouted assembly.
