Hard Wiring for Power

Hi Walter and forum contributors,

I have just ordered the ifly 700. I have an experimental AC and would like to hard wire to the aircraft power. I don't like the cable clutter of running power from a cigar lighter sockets etc. in fact I have none installed.

Questions:

1. Is it possible to purchase a bare power supply wire with just the unit side jack installed? or

2. Is this a generic plug available elsewhere as an off-the-shelf item?.

3. If I must adapt the supplied cord is there any circuitry buried in the cord that I need to be aware, and if so can you supply a schematic drawing?

Hi Tim,

I can sell extra AC or DC adapters for $12 plus shipping. These can be cut & hard wired, there is no circuitry. Generic plugs are not recommended. I will have these available through the store in a couple of days, or you can call 1-888-200-5129 to order right away.

Walter,

I don't see any plugs on website and Scott is not aware of any. Why do you suggest not using a generic D.C. plug? Radio Shack p/n 274-1571 ($2.99 for 2) seems to be an exact match, although it's not an angle plug.

I was referring to the AC/DC plugs being available on the store...which they are now. We don't plan on selling a hard-wire specific plug.

3rd party plugs may seem to fit fine, but there are slight variations on the interior and exterior dimensions and length that can cause a flaky connection, or it could be too tight and damage the plug. So it's much easier for us to simply recommend you use one of our adapters.
