I noticed this a couple of flights back -- when the heading tape get switched to semi-transparent? I preferred the solid white background for this feature. The current configuration is difficult to read in the sectional mode, and this is my primary heading reference on VFR cross country flights. This instrument is so short that the minimal loss of map display is pretty small.

Don,

Try using the Customize instruments option in the Setup to change the color(transparency) and you can even change the size so it's taller too. Customize Instruments is detailed in the owners manual too .

Don: And don't forget that in addition to Shane's excellent advice above, you will need to change the transparancy of the tape and save it for every instrument setup you have, not just on one page. I, too, think that tape is one of the most useful features on the iFly GPS. ===Ralph
