I tried but didn't have much luck. What did kind of work was manually setting each fix as a waypoint right off the approach plate. I just held my finger on the fix and you get the same pop up for options as if you were on a sectional (you don't get the fix name so I set via longitude / latitude ). Set each fix as a waypoint and it will essential work. Trouble is it is very difficult to do while flying - especially in turbulent winter weather. Also very time consuming.
I'm just learning about all this as I prep for my IFR so I might be off on a few things. On my 530 you can bring up a menu of all available approaches, select the approach, activate, and it's all there. Very quick and easy - times when you should turn and heading, etc - which is nice since you might not be sure which approach will be favorable until you are close to your destination.
Not comparing iFly to to 530......well I guess I am :-) ....which says an awful lot about the value and effectiveness of the iFly
Thanks Walter!
