I found a 2013 post asking about connecting iFly GPS App to an ELITE BATD like Foreflight is able to do.  I have worked on various settings and have had some success using an app called x- plane to gps and another called FSX2Android to mock the gps and it works to some degree.  Has anyone been successful at making ifly app work with an Elite?  What settings?

Thanks!

That previous post was probably from me.  My CFII has an Elite rig that I use for IFR proficiency training, but since it's not mine, I have not had the opportunity to "play around" with it to try to establish connectivity.

The last time I spoke with him, he told me that Elite was about to release a new version that was going to natively support EFBs.  I don't know how they were planning to do that, but it would be pretty easy to supply a GPS input to an inexpensive ADSB device like a Stratux and let EFBs attach to that like they would in flight...

I ugraded to release 9 XTS when I bought the used sim.  It does provide connectivity to Foreflight and a few others, but not specifically iFly.  I had used an app (since I use an Android tablet), FSX2Android, and enabled Mock GPS in the Developer Options.  That DID work.  However, for my students with Apple devices (they can't use a Mock app), I had hoped that the update in IFly to support X-Plane would provide a way to send GPS data from the Elite XTS software to iFly without having to use a Mock app.

Here is what I have made work so far:

The XTS software Foreflight option, enabled with the tablet's IP address and port 49002 will send usable data to FLT Plan Go app, with it set to XPlane Simulator in the External connections.

The XTS software will work with (or did at one point) iFly utilizing FSX2Android by sending data to the tablet IP using FSWidgets and enabling Mock GPS on the tablet in Developer Options.

What I hope to figure out is a setting in XTS that will send recognizable data to iFly natively (without the use of a Mock GPS app).

Regards.
