I was wondering if there is a way to "lock" the TAC charts so that they always show no matter what zoom level you are in. I ask this as often when I am flying around Class Bravo airspace I want to zoom out to see what is ahead of me on the chart, but when I do that it scales up to the Sectional or perhaps even the WAC chart view (probably just the sectional) but then I loose the quick access to the information I was looking for and have to zoom in again.

If there is already a setting somehwere that I can adjust to do this, would someone please tell me how. If there is not a adjustable setting, I would like to put that on request.

No, probably because at a certain zoom level, the TAC would not fill the screen.  I guess iFly would not know you are just temporarily looking at the sectional and plan to return to the TAC and current zoom level.

EDIT:  Well I was just looking at the CLT TAC and dragged it off to the side to see something "off the chart."  It showed the sectional for that area, but was still on TAC when I dragged it back.  So, instead of zooming, try dragging the chart.  Then, tap the bullseye to recenter on your aircraft.

Tim, thanks for the idea. I guess for me what I personally would prefer is if what was always displayed was the TAC chart and I never saw the sectional for that area (that area being the geographic area that the TAC chart would cover). Im not a software guy so I have no idea how hard it would be to create the master chart file that would allow you to essentially cut out that portion of the sectional and place the TAC chart in there.

I am only speaking for myself in that if I am flying in Class Bravo airspace, I have no need for the sectional chart and a HUGE need for the TAC chart.

I'm sure Brian could figure it out if there was enough customer demand.  What you are describing is to have iFly always default to the chart with the highest level of detail based on where your aircraft is located and regardless of zoom level.  That could be a pilot selectable option.  Seems like a reasonable idea.

For me it is only specific for the TAC charts, that’s when I need the most detail all the time. Outside of that having lower detail doesn’t really affect me but I also wouldn’t mind it always defaulting to the highest resolution chart, possible making it user selectable option?
