I love the Select desired data by state option on my Iphone. The individual chart list on the IflyGPS units is LONG and the check marks are very TOUCHY on my 720 and my 740b units. When trying to scroll to the desired chart it inadvertantly selects charts not wanted. It is also a long list to scroll through and recognise the ones desired. The select by state is so simple and easy to create a nice desired region of the country.
Other than download time, is there a reason not to just sellect ALL? Does the unit have plenty of memory?

Finally, are there any plans to use the select by state option in future software?

I select all on my Surface Pro 4 because I use it at home when following discussions on this site. Even with a good WIFI connection, it takes quite a while to update the entire VFR and low IFR database. I definitely would not want that on my iPad Mini 4 or iPhone 6S Plus regardless if it had enough storage capacity or not.

I have a selection of several states that I keep current on those devices. That never changes, so once I select those states one time, it's a simple matter of clicking on update. Not an issue at all for me.

Storage is only limited by the size of the SD card on the iFly devices.  The card that ships with the device is sufficient to hold the entire data set.  Aside from download time and any data cap your internet provider imposes, there is no concern with downloading all data.

Similar to the state-by-state selection, once you go through the entire list and select only the charts you want, you can choose to "save selection" and never do it again.  From then forward, you can just check for updates, let it download anything that's checked (which it remembers because you saved those selections), and be done.  (Don't be concerned if you notice that not everything you checked shows up in the download list when you update.  Different products expire at different times, and it will only show the products that have expired since your last update.)

I think it's on the roadmap for the iFly devices (or at least the iFly Connect update tool) to get the state-by-state selection like the non-iFly devices use, but I'm not sure where that's prioritized.  Hopefully Shaun will answer that for you.

I downloaded all to both my 700 and now my 740 with no apparent ill effects.
