How about a clickable day/night toggle that can be added to the instrument in the regular map view?

You mean in addition to when you tap the Map Mode button and press Brightness at the bottom?

Correct.
Make it available as a widget so I don't have to click 3 times to night mode.
Right now its MAP MODE => BRIGHTNESS => NIGHT MODE.
Just let me put a button in the "instrument customization" menu for "day/night" so it is just one tap.

Okay, just wanted to confirm that you knew the normal way to change to night/day. For me, since I only change from Day to Night once every so often, it's not worth taking up screen real estate for a button I rarely use. But I don't see a problem by having the option.

Options are the basis of all of my suggestions! (except for dealing with the crappy scroll/zoom graphics behavior of the sectionals).
I toggle from day to night on the vast majority of my cross-country flights at some point.
