Lately I've gotten ATC instructions to "cross XYZZY at 6000", and have gone into the Flight Plan to make that adjustment so that I can get a VSR instrument to help guide my descent.

Every.  Single.  Time, I pop up the dialog to change the waypoint altitude, and start typing the value I want to change it to, then look up to notice that the altitude field now reads something like "30006".

So then I mutter under my breath, press "Clear", re-type "6000", and then press enter.

I recommend this dialog pop up with the altitude value highlighted so that it will be overwritten when the user starts typing in the new value, so that the user does not have to press "Clear" first.

In that exact same vein, when flight planning and "multiple altitudes" are checked, we cannot lower the altitudes between two intermediate waypoints without lowering almost the entire flight.  A classic example is you want 9500' for most of the flight but to stay under the MOA's of a particular area (or three!) you want to get down to 7500' for that leg or three and the rest remain at the preferred 9500'.

I continue to be fooled by this. I use it infrequently enough that I *still* open this window and start punching numbers, then kick myself (and mutter under my breath) when I see that I have just appended a digit to the existing altitude, then I have to touch "clear" and start typing again.  Argh...

I agree.  Have the same issue.  This would make it more consistent with everyday apps, too.
